Ulrich Shirk (Sherch or Schurck): He was one of the Palatines who boarded in Rotterdam on June 28 and disembarked from the ship Mortonhouse on August 23, 1728 in Philadelphia.
Trascriptions of the Ships' List vary:
John Coultes, Commander, from Rotterdam, but last from Deal, arrived 23rd of August, 1728 and includes Uldrick SHURK, Uldrick SHURK, and Johan SHURK among the passengers. Another transcription lists John Coultas Master from Rotterdam and includes passengers Uli SCHURCH, Udry SCHURCH, and Johannes (X) SCHORCK. These individuals are Ulrich I and two of his sons.
Ulrich married Anna Schwar, daughter of Jacob Schwar and Adaline Bleum. (Anna Schwar was born in 1720 in Hickorytown, North Lancaster, PA. and died in 1810.)
