Susan Harriett Garrett

  General Notes:

In 1843 the Garrett family went to Missouri and stayed. Jarrett Bolden and William Starling returned to Rockingham Co., N.C. (or perhaps never left?). Other Garretts returned occationally for visits. My guess is that Susan met up with James Newton Garrett during one of those return visits because she is clearly listed in the 1850 census living in Missouri ... see general notes for her mother, Elizabeth Sims, for 1850 census facts.

Susan married James Newton Thompson, son of Thomas Thompson and Unknown, on 18 Jun 1857 in Windsor Township, Johnson Co., Missouri. (James Newton Thompson was born on 10 Dec 1830 in North Carolina, died on 4 Feb 1873 in Missouri and was buried in Fewell Graveyard.)
