Died March 11, 1991, Bennett Wesley Palmore of Richmond. Survived by his sister Frances Palmore Johnson, a brother Woodrow Wilson Palmore Wicomico Church. Remains rest at Morrisett Funeral Home. 6500 Ironbridge Road (RT 10) where services will be held 11:00 am Thursday. Internment, Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00pm to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Covenant Presbyterian Church 6415 Irongate Dr. Richmond Virginia 23234


The 1940 Federal Census for Dale District, Chesterfield Co., VA, District 21-6, page 114A, dated June 11, 1940 (image 39 of 42 at www.ancestry.com) records Bennett W. (34 - VA) and Mary V. (26 - Wisconsin) Palmore living on Rte 1602 near the intersection with Beulah Church Road. Bennett is working as a Retail Merchant in a Grocery Store. They are renting the home for $15 / month. Also in the household is Bennett's mother-in-law, the widow Elizabeth P. Hagan (55 - VA) [Pearl] and his wife's grand father, Edward W. Hagan Sr. (85 - PA). Bennet has completed 2 years of high school, while Mary has completed 4 years of high school, Elizabeth has completed 2 years of high school, and Edward [Edwin] has completed 7 years of grammar school. Everyone was living at this home on April 1, 1935.

Bennett married Mary V. Hagen, daughter of Charles Levi Hagen and Elizabeth Pearl Francis. (Mary V. Hagen was born on 3 Apr 1913 in Wisconsin, died on 22 Nov 1990 in Chesterfield Co., Virginia and was buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.)
