William is a farmer with real estate valued at $2,000 and a personal estate valued at $4,500. William and Nancy are living next door to Eliza Law (64), Sarah Law (16), and William Law (1). Both families are living near by to William "Billy" Minter and family whose wife, Julia Law, is the daughter of Adam and Letitia Law ... The 1870 Federal Census for Leatherwood, Henry Co., Virginia, Martinsville P. O., page 68B, dated July 18, 1870 records William (46) and Nancy (33) Hunt and their children Charles A. (11), Thomas D. (7), Cornela E. (5), and Margaret (2). William is a farmer. Also in the household is Elizabeth Law (70) who is Nancy's mother but is listed as "without employment".

The 1880 Federal Census for Leatherwood, Henry Co., Virginia, District 129, page 62B, dated June 11, 1880 records William (56) and Nancy O. (43) Hunt and their children Charles (20), Cornelia (15), Margaret (11), and Mary E. (1/12 - April). William is a farmer.

William married Nannie Law, daughter of Adam Law and Elizabeth Haynes, on 25 Dec 1855 in Franklin Co., VA. (Nannie Law was born circa 1836 in Virginia and died after 1880 in Henry Co., VA.)
