The 1900 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Lancaster City, 2-Ward, ED#45, page 275A records Charles (July 1871) and Carrie (Dec 1870) Ochs with son Ralph (March 1893) living at 42 East Chestnut Street. Charles is a Piano Salesman and has been married to Carrie for 7 years. They have had 1 child.
The 1910 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Lancaster City, 7-Ward District 81, page 33A records Charles (38) and Carrie (40) Ochs with son Ralph (16) living at 570 Freiburg Street (which is now 570 Pershing Ave.). Charles and Carrie have been married 17 years and have had 1 child. Charles is listed as a Piano Salesman while Ralph is listed as a packer at a wholesale drygoods store.
Neither Charles nor Carrie can be found in census records for 1920 ... their son, Ralph, is boarding with his grandmother, Esther Ochs, in 1920. Charles and Carrie may have died in the flu epidemic ... see medical notes that indicate their deaths may be due to Tuberculosis.
