The 1900 Federal Census for West Branch, Potter Co., Pa., ED 121, Page 329B, dated June 7, 1900 indicates Rosa (Rose) is born in Switzerland in Jan. 1860 and immigrated to the United States in 1860. John immigrated in 1873. The census also records Rose's mother Kate Rohrbach, born in Jan. 1826, living with the family. The census records John (July 1855 - Switzerland) and Rosa (Jan 1860 - Switzerland) Abplanalp with children Eta (June 1889 - PA), Harvey (Sept 1885 - PA), Rosa (Sept 1892 - PA), Anna (June 1896 - PA), and Loyd (Aug 1899 - PA). John is a farmer. He and Rosa have been married 22 years with 7 children all of whom are still living.

The 1910 Federal Census for West Branch, Potter Co., Pa., ED 132, page 231B. dated April 29, 1910 records Rose (50 - Switzerland/Switzerland/Switzerland) and Peter (45 - Switzerland/Switzerland/Switzerland) Lauthold (sic) with Rose's children Anna Alenop (sic) (14) and Harvie Alenop (sic) (24) living on Aby Road near the intersection with Elk Run Road. This is the 1st marriage for Peter and 2nd for Rose. They have been married for 8 years. Rose has had 9 children of whom 6 are still living.

In 1920 Rose is living in West Branch, Potter Co., PA with her son Harvey Abplanalp and second husband Peter Leuthold. The 1920 Federal Census for West Branch, Potter Co., Pa., ED#134, page 231B, dated January 7, 1920 records Rosey (58 - Switzerland/Switzerland/Switzerland) and Peter (52 - Switzerland/Switzerland/Switzerland) Leuthold with Rosey's son Harvey Abplanalp (34 - PA). Rosey immigrated in 1860 while Peter in 1889.

In 1930 Rose is living with her son Harvey Abplanalp and second husband Peter in West Branch, Potter Co., PA. The 1930 Federal Census for West Branch, Potter Co., PA, ED#31, page 274A, dated April 8, 1930 records Rose (70 - Switzerland/Switzerland/Switzerland) and Peter (63 - Switzerland/Switzerland/Switzerland) Leuthold continuing to farm. Also in the household is Rose's son Harvey Abplanalp (44 - PA). Peter was first married at 35 and immigrated in 1889 while Rose was first married at 19 and immigrated in 1860.
