In an email April 29, 2008 from Fred Kile:
As for Gloria and family I am not any expert, that was so very long ago I can not remember much and never did. [I] Believe she was born in May '32, no idea where. Her father was Clarence Fisher. [I] believe he may have been born in Wormleysburg (sp) and [her] mother, Mildred Shover, maybe [in] Enola, both towns are along the river. [I] Have no idea when [they were] born. Gloria had a older sister Jean (Jeanne) who died several years ago she may have been born in '30. We were married in Hagerstown, MD. [I] Can't or do not want to remember much of our marriage, it just never should of happened although it did produce three outstanding sons, [of whom I] am proud and love them greatly, even feel the same about the one who had to leave us. After our split she remarried a Clifford Gardner a really great guy who treated her very well and treated my sons as though they were his own. We usually see him when visiting in RI. They divorced, don't know why but have my own ideas. She died two or three years ago, was living over in Perry County, with a female partner, do not remember the town.

In regards to the above email this researcher looked at the 1930 census records of found what is believed to be the correct family for Gloria Fisher (before she was born): The 1930 Federal Census for East Pennsboro, Cumberland Co., PA, District 15, page 222B records the newly weds Clarence L. (25 - PA) and Mildred E. (22 - PA) Fisher living with her parents David J. (56 - PA/PA/PA) and Clara P. (61 - PA/PA/PA) Shover farming along Center Road. Also in the household are Mildred's siblings Marie Shover (21) and Kenneth R. Shover (17).

The 1940 Federal Census for Mechanicsburg, Cumberland Co., PA, District 21-32, page 222B records the widow Clara P. Shover (71 - PA/PA/PA) and her son Kenneth R. Shover (27 - PA ) living at 115 West Green Street. Also in the household are her married daughter Mildred S. Fisher (32 - PA) and her husband Clarance L. Fisher (35 - PA) and their children Jean M. Fisher (9) and Gloria L. Fisher (7 - PA). Kenneth is a Truck Driver for a Laundry while Clarence is a Janitor for a Five & Ten [Store].
