Also in the household are Dr. Wm Dehart (40 - Paris) and his wife Juliette L. Dehart (38 - NY). Next door is Edward's brother, Richard J. Wortham and family.

The 1860 Federal Census for Henderson, Granville Co., North Carolina, Henderson P. O., page 166A, dated June 21, 1860 records E. W. Wortham (39 - NC) with children Frances (11), George E. (9), Sarah (7), Rosa (6/12). Edward is a farmer whose real estate's value is $3,270 and his personal estate is valued at $3,300.
From the 1860 census record as well as Granville marriage records, it appears that Harriet Wortham died ca 1855, Edward remarried and his 2nd wife died during the birth of Rosa Wortham.

The 1900 Federal Census for Henderson Township, Vance Co., North Carolina, District 83, page 155B, dated June 29, 1900 records Edward W. (April 1821 - NC/NC/NC) and his wife, Happy W. (Jan 1843 - NC/NC/NC), Wortham with children Bela L. (May 1870), Jane L. (Jan 1874), Eunice M. (April 1877), Lizzie R. (Feb 1880), Claud A. (Jan 1882), and Lendie B. (June 1886). Edward and Happy have been married for 31 years and have had 7 children all of whom are still living.

Edward married Harriet Jane McCraw, daughter of Frank McCraw and Living, on 5 Sep 1848 in Granville Co., N.C. (Harriet Jane McCraw was born about 1829 in N. C. and died circa 1855 in Henderson, Granville Co., NC.)
