Flois Bloomfield
Retail sales clerk, homemaker, 90
Flois Bloomfield, a 65-year resident of California and a 25-year resident of Joshua Tree, died in Joshua Tree June 9, 2014. She was 90 years old.
The daughter of George and Carie Coleman, she was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Mallard, Kentucky.
She was a retail salesperson and a homemaker.
Mrs. Bloomfield was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Bloomfield Sr., and son Charles E. Bloomfield Jr.
She is survived by her children Karen G. Smith, William L. Bloomfield and Denise K. Arroyo.
She is also survived by five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held June 23 at Riverside National Cemetery.

From an email dated June 14, 2014:
Thanks for telling me about my Aunt Flois. We had visited her in November and she was still living at her home in Joshua Tree, California. My Uncle Buford Coleman and Uncle Gary Coleman contacted me back in early May about not being able to reach Flois at her home phone number. I called her son Bill Bloomfield and he said she had fallen ill in December or January and was in a nursing home.
I will notify my Uncle's in Kentucky. I would guess my Uncle Paul would know of this. I don't have a phone number for him, but if you know his number and would like me to call him just let me know.
My mother was the oldest of the Coleman family and Flois was her closest sibling in age. She came up to Oregon many times to help me and my father care for my mother, who had Alzheimer's. Always enjoyed visits to see her and her husband down in California.
My wife Rose and I were just in Kentucky for a family visit in late April. We sure had a good time there.
As for genealogy; my wife Rose (Rosemarie Sthay) Clark was born August 9, 1954 in Salem, Oregon to Constance (Girolmo) and Arlen Sthay. I was born November 24, 1957 in Portsmouth, Ohio. Roses's parents died on the same day two years apart; Connie, May 22, 2007 and Arlen, May 22, 2009. Both are buried in Salem, Oregon.
