  General Notes:

The 1850 Federal Census for Henry Co., Va. records Charles F. Martin living with Clergyman Orson Martin (75). Charles' children, Joseph Martin (2), Samuel Martin (1), and Nancy Martin (4/12), are living with grandparents Henry and Gilly
Lawrence.

It should be noted that by 1860 Jospeh (13) and Samuel (12) Martin are now living with their father, Charles Martin (53) and his new wife, Elizabeth (29). Youngest daughter, Nancy, is still living with her grandparents, Henry and Gilley
Lawrence.

Charles married Sarah "Sally" Lawrence, daughter of Henry Lawrence and Gilly Ann Allen, on 9 May 1846 in Henry Co., VA. (Sarah "Sally" Lawrence was born about 1822 in Henry Co., VA. and died about 1850.)

Charles next married Elizabeth (Betsy) Cox. (Elizabeth (Betsy) Cox was born on 30 Aug 1829 ⁹² and died in Feb 1912 ⁹².)
