(40) and Rhoda (38) Reynolds and siblings William (15), Elizabeth (13), Susan (11), John (7), and Jabez (5). She is next door to the Anderson Adkins family into which she will marry.

The 1860 U.S. Census, Virginia, Pittsylvania Co., Northern District page 37 / page 193 records Harsie Reynolds (20) living with father, John P. Reynolds (51), and siblings Susan A. S. (22), John B. (18), and Jabe S. (15). Nearby (on page 35 / page 191 on the same census record) is her brother, William G. Reynolds (26) with his wife, Elizabeth (21), and son, William G. (1).

Hersy married Ralph G. Adkins, son of Anderson Adkins and Nancy Booker (Nannie) Reynolds, on 15 Jan 1861 in Pittsylavania Co., VA. (Ralph G. Adkins was born on 20 Dec 1836 in Museville, Pittsylvania Co., VA, died on 3 Jul 1914 in Pittyslvania Co., Virginia and was buried in Adkins-Oakes Cemetery, Pittsylvania Co., VA.)
