Meador (47 - VA/VA/VA) (indexed as Alfad A McAdow at ancestry.com) with wife Hattie (42 - VA/VA/VA) and children Ralph J. (21 - VA), Lold (19 - VA), Henry B. (13 - VA), Irene V. (11), Andred H. (7), and Allen V. (4). Alfred is employed as a Farmer. Also in the household is mother-in-law Macela (sic) Belcher (79). Alfred reports being first married at age 23 while Hattie at age 19.

The 1940 U.S. Census for Blackwater, Franklin Co., Virginia, ED# 34-1, page 9A records Alfred H. Meador (58 - VA) (indexed as Alfred H. Meader at ancestry.com) with wife Hattie A. (52 - VA) and children Ralph (31 - VA), A Hughes (17), and H. Allen (14) living along State Road #602. Alfred is employed as a Farmer and has completed 6 years of schooling as has Hattie.
