bullet  General Notes:

Emily C. Daughtrey wrote that Joshua's sister, Francis Daughtrey (daughter of Richard and Appenina), "married a Morgan and had children Will, Algernon, and James." Using Emily's "Family Facts" as a basis, the most likely record found for these individuals is the 1850 Federal Census for Tennessee, White Co., District 3 that lists James H. Morgan (45 - Virginia) with wife Polly (42 - Tennessee) and children William (17), Algernon (15), Jane (10), and Martha (10), and Evalina (6).

However, after years of researching ancillary lines I believe the "Francis" named by Aunt Emily is possibly the grand daughter of Richard and Appenina and daughter of Richard and Jemima. It is documented that Richard and Jemima went to Georgia and their daughter Francis first married Frederick T. Morgan then Evans W. Morgan. Frederick and Francis had sons named James and Will while Evan and Francis had a son named Algernon. This would fit Aunt Emily's narrative of the Daughtrey family history and be off by a generation. Emily's family story for Francis Daughtrey is about Daughtreys who lived in the area of her home in Nansemond Co., VA and relate individuals born many years before her time. According to Magnolia Cemetery records in Augusta, GA, Richard Daughtrey and family moved to Augusta, GA ca 1838 some 40 years before Emily's birth.

For reference and research purposes I include the following alternative family for Francis Daughtrey:
Using James Morgan (as described above in the 1850 census record) as the husband of Francis Daughtrey one can follow that family:
All children are born in Tennessee. The 1860 census for Sparta, White Co., Tennessee records the family: James H. (54 - Hotel Keeper) and Polly (54) Mergen [Morgan] with children William B. (25 - grocery merchant), Jane (18), and Eveline (15). While Algernon does not appear in the 1860 census he is recorded in the 1870 Federal Census for White Co., Tennessee, District 3: Alga (34) and Lavina C. (28) Morgan. The 1880 Federal Census for White Co., Tennessee, District 140 records Algernon S. (45) and Malvina (37) Morgan. Also in the household are two nieces: Mattie Lowrey (6) and Allice Camp (6). The 1900 census records Alga [Algernon] remaining in White Co. He is listed as born Dec 1834. Also in the household is Vina (Dec 1841) and his/her mother Mary Camp (?) (Dec 1807-widow / indexed at ancestry.com as Carnes). Alga and Vina have been married 33 years and have no children. Vina applies for a widows pension after the death of her husband, Confederate Veteran, Algernon Sydney Morgan. The 1900 listing of Mary Carnes [Camp] appears to be "Camp" because earlier census records record "Camp". Example: 1860 Federal Census, White Co., Tennessee records Mary Camp (52 - born ca 1808) with husband William E. Camp (54) and children including Lavina Camp (1843). The 1850 Federal Census for White Co., TN records William E. Camp (1807) and wife Mary (1807) and 5 children including Lavina (1841). However, as things work out, while Lavina's mother is Mary Camp, born ca 1807, the Mary Carnes [Camp] listed above is actually Mary Morgan [Mary "Polly" Bradshaw], Algenon's mother, who has remarried to a William D. Carnes and by 1900 is a widow for the second time.

Francis married James H. Morgan. (James H. Morgan was born circa 1805 in Virginia and died after 1860 in Tennessee.)
