General Notes:
See general notes on Isaac Lozey regarding Pennina (Daughtrey) Lausey... and the name "Apenina"
The Great Grand Daughter of Richard and Appenina Daughtrey, Emily C. Daughtrey, wrote that the name of the wife of Richard Daughtrey was Apenine or Appenina Morgan. A Dec 1, 1807 Land Deed for Isle of Wight Co., Va. (Deed Book 20, pages 503-504 found and related to me by fellow researcher Nita Rawls Watterson) records an indenture [sale] from Richard Daughtrey and his wife, Penelope, to Solomon Daughtrey. Emily wrote of a daughter, Appenina who married an Isaac Lozey ... the 1860 census records for Richmond Co., Georgia list Isaac Lausey (42), a brick maker from Lower Canada married to a Pennina Lausey (47) from Virginia and in 1870 in the same county Isaac C. Losey is 52 (b. 1818 - Canada - Watchman) while his wife is listed as what appears to be Euninh (perhaps "I Nah") age 59 (b. 1811-Virginia). This is convincing evidence that "Appenina Daughtrey" went to Richmond Co., Georgia where her brother Richard was living and that Apenina and Penelope are variations of the same name. Emily recalled family stories for her ancestors that appear to be valid.
Apenina married Richard Daughtrey II, son of Richard Daughtrey I and Christian Council. (Richard Daughtrey II was born about 1770 in Isle of Wight Co., VA. and died after 1840 in Isle of Wight Co., VA..)
