Larry R. Stauffer, 79, of Hammond Ave., Ephrata, formerly of Lititz, went home Friday, October 10th. He was the loving husband of Dorothy L. Johnson Stauffer and they celebrated 57 years of marriage this past April 25th. Born in Lancaster, Larry was the son of the late Theodore R. and Marion Dougherty Stauffer, and the late Dorothy L. Smith who he looked to as a second mother. Larry worked for RCA for 34 years, retiring in 1989, and then he went on to work part-time for Way Messenger, Lancaster, as a driver. Determined to not fully retire, Larry also worked as a driver for King when he lived in Florida.

A member of Plantation United Methodist Church, Plantation, FL, Larry was a former member of the Lititz U.M. Church. Serving in the Navy during the Korean War, he was also a member of the American Legion Post #56.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Debra Fillo, E. Petersburg, and Larry Robert (Rosemarie) Stauffer Jr., Brigantine, NJ; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, William Stauffer, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and John Stauffer, Tampa, FL; a sister, Jane Adams, PA. His grandfather William (Peanuts) Stauffer will be remembered for playing an important role in his early years.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Life Celebration Funeral Service 12 noon Tuesday at the Spacht Funeral Home, Ltd. 127 S. Broad Street Lititz, PA. Interment will be in Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Monday night and from 11 A.M. Tuesday until 12 noon at the funeral home. Please omit flowers. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Larry's memory to the Lititz United Methodist Church C/O Building Fund 201 E. Market Street Lititz, PA 17543. (Lancaster Newspapers, 10/12/2008)
