General Notes:
The 1900 Federal Census for Piqua, Miami Co., Ohio, District 98 records the widow Catherine Cramer (Feb 1842 - Indiana/Kentucky/Tennessee) living with her son Grant [Ira] Cramer (Nov 1864 - Illinois/PA/Indiana) and his wife Julia (Nov 1869 - Iowa/Ohio/Ohio) and their son Clarence (April 1895 - Ohio). Also in the household is Grant's sister, Margaret Cramer (Jan 1872 - Ohio/PA/Indiana) and nephew, David L. Cramer (Mar 1881 - Ohio/Ohio/Indiana) living at 1119 Madison Avenue. Grant and Julia have been married for 8 years and have had 1 child. Both Grant and David are listed in the "occupation, trade, or profession" as "Plaster". Catherine indicates that she has had 8 children of which 6 are still living. Since David is the only male child of David and Catherine Cramer born before 1880, one wonders whether David is a brother rather than a nephew? Also, Catherine indicates that she has had 8 children and David would be the "8th". It appears that this David L. Cramer is indeed Catherine's son. He is known as Lee Cramer.
The 1910 Federal Census for Piqua, Ward 4, Miami Co., Ohio, District 137, page 206B records the widow Katherine (sic) Cramer (68 - Indiana/Kentucky/PA) living with her daughter, Margaret H. Cramer (38 - Ohio/PA/Indiana) at 1119 1/2 Madison Avenue. Catherine indicates that she has had 7 children of which 5 are still living. Next door at 1119 Madison Avenue (a duplex?) is Catherine's daughter, Mary [Cramer] Foley (32 - Ohio/PA/Indiana) with her husband of 10 years, Thomas Foley (35 - Ohio/Ireland/Ireland). Thomas is a Plasterer.
The 1860 Federal Census for Hennepen Township, Putnam Co, Illinois, page 488 records a Catherine Lawson (19 - Indiana) living with A. Lomax (39) and his wife Ann E. Lomax (31). This person is only a few pages over from David Cramer in this census record and is a good candidate for his soon to be wife. The death certificate for her daughter, Margaret Cramer, confirms the maiden name of Catherine Lawson and place of birth as Indiana. However, the death certificate for her daughter, Alice May Cramer, indicates the place of birth for Catherine Lawson as Peoria, Illinois.
