bullet  General Notes:

The 1900 Federal Census for Urbana, Champaign Co., Ohio, District 18 records Belle Miles (July 1863 - Illinois/PA/Minnesota) with her husband Christopher Miles (May 1862 - Ohio/Ireland/Ireland) and daughter Alice (Nov 1884) living at 115 East Market Street. Christopher and Belle have been married for 15 years and have had one child. Also in the household is Belle's sister, Minnie Cramer (Dec 1877). Christopher is a Driver for a Beer Wagon.
This record along with her aunt Mary Cramer's will confirm her marriage and parentage.
Probate Court Records from Pat Stickley at The Champaign County Genealogical Society record the date and details of the Sept 8, 1884 marriage.

The 1910 Federal Census for Urbana, Ward 2, Champaign Co., Ohio, District 19 records Belle Miles (46 - Illinois/PA/Minnesota) with her husband Chris Miles (28 - Ohio/Ireland/Ireland) and daughter Alice (25) living at 215 Water Street. Christopher and Belle have been married for 26 years and have had one child.

Bell Miles is listed in the 1920 census but the listing is not consistent with all known facts: The 1920 Federal Census for Urbana, Champaign Co., Ohio, District 19 records the widow Belle Miles (54 - Illinois/PA/Missouri) as a mother-in-law in the home of Allice Lehman (33 - Ohio/Ohio/Ireland) and her husband Edward Lehman (43 - PA/PA/PA) living at 224 Locust Street. Also in the household is Franklin Miles (13 - PA/PA/PA) who is listed as a Brother-in-law. Franklin is clearly too young to be the brother-in-law, perhaps he is actually a son of Edward's first marriage. Also, Alice is listed as born in Ohio with a mother from Ireland ... clearly not consistent with facts regarding Belle! However, perhaps Alice is Christopher's daughter by a previous marriage.
Death certificates for Alice Miles Lehman confirm that the above individuals are indeed the family of Christopher Miles and Arabel (Belle) Cramer and that the errors are just mistakes in the written record ... see medical notes for Alice Miles.
