General Notes:
The following website records cemetery records for George Cramer: http://www.rootsweb.com/~pacumber/zzcc/monroe.htm MONROE WOODS FARM GRAVEYARD LOWER ALLEN TWP., CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Cramer, Elizabeth d. 1835, age 13y, d/o George & Elizabeth Cramer Cramer George d. 2-5-1853, age 63y Since George is listed in the 1850 for Lower Allen (see below), this is most probably our George Cramer. It [Gehr Family Graveyard/Monroe Family Graveyard] is located in Lower Allen Township, north on Lisburn Rd, left on Raven Hill Rd, on the left among some pines. The GPS location is N40 degrees, 10.916', by W 76 degrees, 55.840'.
George Cramer is repetedly named as the oldest son in estate papers of his father, Henry Cremer, Warrington Twp, York County Pennsylvania.
The 1850 Federal Census for Lower Allen, Cumberland Co., Pa. records on page 25 a George Cremer (born ca 1789), married to Elizabeth Cremer (born ca 1791), with children Andrew (born 1818-Mason), Obadiah (born ca 1827), David (born ca 1828), George, (born ca 1829), and Mary (born ca 1820). Later census records have Mary, George, and David living in Urbana, Ohio next to or near Samuel Cramer (see notes on children of George). Also, in the 1850 census, East Pennsboro, Cumberland Co., Samuel and Sarah A. (Goudy) Cremer and son George W. (born ca 1849) are living just a few miles from the George Cremer family above and next door to Sarah's parents, Samuel and Anna Goudy. This Samuel Cremer is a Stone Mason as is the probable brother of Andrew Cremer, described above. By following Samuel and family in later census records, most of the the George Cremer family members move to Ohio and are living with or near each other and 4 of the brothers and some family move to Nebraska around 1882 ... see notes on other family members for census facts.

This is clearly our George Cramer/Creamer and the census records from 1820, 1830, 1840, and 1850 show the George Cramer/Creamer family living nearby the Paul Gher/Gehr family in Lower Allen Township.

This researcher believes the former.]
Henry Cremer of York Co., PA is the subject of the census study below. At Henry Cramer's death, John Myer and Abraham Beyers are listed as adjoining land owners. Finding the subject of this study is somewhat difficult in that Henry Cremer/Cramer/Kremer/Creamer appears many times in York Co.
Finding known neighbors of our subject could help determine the correct Henry Cremer. 1810 finds John Myers and Abraham Beyer living next or near our subject. Also nearby is Jacob Kline. I will thus try to follow these people through different census years in order to establish the correct census record.
Henry Cremer, John Myers, Abraham Beyers, and Jacob Kline appear near each other through several census years. The 1800 census below shows such a connection (familes) in Manheim Township of York Co. but they are not the correct subjects. This is described here only to show the difficulty in finding our particular subject. Below this Manheim study is the correct subjects of our study. 1800 Manheim, York Co., PA Henry Cremer (only 11 columns are listed in this census record) <10 10-15 16-25 26-44 45+ <10 10-15 16-25 26-44 45+ free persons slaves 1 b b 1 b 1 b b 1 b b b Next door is Jacob Kline 1 2 b 1 b 2 b b 1 b b b THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT HENRY CRAMER!!! from estate records: John Myer / in the 1812 estate record for Henry Cremer, John is listed as owner of "Adjoining lands" to land owned by Henry Cremer near by is Abraham Byers / in the 1812 estate record for Henry Cremer, an Abraham Boyer is listed as owner of "Adjoining lands" to land owned by Henry Cremer ... Byers/Boyer/Beyers - probably the same person.
1800 Warrington, York Co., PA Henry Kremer (only 11 columns are listed in this census record) <10 10-15 16-25 26-44 45+ <10 10-15 16-25 26-44 45+ free persons slaves 3 b b b 1 3 1 b 1 b b b A few doors away is John Myers 1 2 b 1 1 3 1 3 1 b b b A few doors away is Abraham Beyers 2 b 1 1 b 1 b 1 2 b b b A few doors away is Jacob Kline 1 b b 1 b b b b 1 b b b

Proximity tells me that the above Henry Cramer is the Henry Cramer, probable father of my George. The 1800 census records 3 boys under age 10 ... that would be my George and his brother Henry ... another who died? Then the 1810 census records 1 boy (10-15) and 1 boy (16-25). The (10-15) would be Henry and the (16-25) would be George ... Right?!?. But what about your 1780 birth date ... could that be an error? My dates for my George come from the 1850 census record ... which is consistent with the MONROE WOODS FARM GRAVEYARD LOWER ALLEN TWP., CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ... Also supporting this George Cramer as 'my George" is the fact that Paul and Elizabeth Gehr with children are buried in the same graveyard. By the way ... if you look at the 1850 census I think it is reasonable to conclude the "correct" Elizabeth Gehr is living next to "my George Cramer" ...
