The Pittsburgh Press, Sunday Evening, May 2, 1948 - Obituary for Mrs. Lisette Schindler: Funeral services for Mrs. Lisette Schindler, a resident of Homewood for the past 29 years, with be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 40th Street and Howley Avenue. Mrs. Schindler died Friday at her home, 7229 Kedron St., after a long illness. She was 79. The widow of August Schindler, she was a member of St. John's Church and a member of Ladies Aid Society. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Bauer, Mrs. Emma S. Brown, Mrs. Elizabeth Gumto, Mrs. Gertrude Keller, and Mrs. Alice Kennedy, all of Pittsburgh; one son, August Schindler, Pittsburgh; 10 grandchildren and four great-grand-children. Friends are being received at the family home. Burial will be at the Allegheny Cemetery.
