The 1900 Federal Census for Little Creek, Franklin Co., VA, District 29, page 127B, dated June 5, 1900 records Charles W. (July 1853 - VA/VA/VA) and Elizabeth (January 1855 - VA/VA/VA) Montgomery with children Thos F. (June 1876), Rosa B. July 1880), Laura M. (Feb 1885), Zaida E. (Feb 1887), Cephus A. (June 1889), John D. (Sept 1891), Riley B. (July 1895), and Sallie E. (May 1900). Charles is a farmer and has been married to Sarah for 27 years. They have had 12 children of whom 9 are still living. Next door is Charles' oldest son, Tom, and family.

The 1910 Federal Census for Little Creek, Franklin Co., VA, District 39, page 141A, dated April 29, 1910 records C. W. (57 - VA/VA/VA) and Elizabeth (55 - VA/VA/VA) Montgomery with children Lura (25), Zaida (22), Cephus (20), Riley (15), and Sallie E. (9). Charles is a farmer and has been married to Sarah for 38 years. They have had 10 children of whom 9 are still living. Also in the household is C. W.'s widowed mother, Sallie Montgomery (81 - VA/VA/VA).

Charles married Elizabeth Flora. (Elizabeth Flora was born on 18 Jan 1855 in Virginia and died on 5 Dec 1937 in Little Creek District, Franklin Co., Virginia.)
