Susie Sharp Newsom

Susie was named for her Aunt Susie Sharp, Supreme Court Justice of North Carolina.
Susie Newsom Lynch divorced her husband and soon began a close relationship with her first cousin, Fritz Klenner. They may or may not have been lovers. Their lives and their deaths are recorded in the book, Bitter Blood, by Jerry Bledsoe, published in 1988 by Penguin Books (Book of the Month Club Selection). The closer they became, the more Fritz drew into his mental illness. Whether or not she was aware of the fact that he was the person murdering her in-laws, parents, and grandmother we will never know. She died at the hands of her cousin when, being cornered by the police at an intersection in Greensboro, Fritz blew up the Chevy Blazer in which Susie, her two boys, and their two dogs were passengers. There were no survivors.
