Anna (Nancy Ann) Broome

  General Notes:

The 1860 Federal Census for Perry Township, Lawrence County, Ohio records Anna Melvin (78 - VA), a Farmer's Widow living with Ann Melvin (15) and Phebe Melvin (13). These two girls are her grand daughters by her son Theodore. This census lists the birth place of all the females as Virginia although the 1850 census indicates Ann's place of birth as Vermont. Since the Melvins were evidently from New England, Anna is most likely born in Vermont.

Anna married Jonathan Melvin, son of Nathan Melvin and Anna Foster. (Jonathan Melvin was born about 1774 in Vermont, died about 1855 in Coal Grove, Lawrence Co., Ohio and was buried in Melvin Cemetery, Coal Grove, Ohio.)
