The 1870 Federal Census for Wilkes Barre Ward 2, Luzerne, PA, page 641A records John Delmar (sic) (18 - PA) with his parents Patrick (55 - Ireland) and Annie (50 - Ireland) Delmar and sisters Susan (10 - PA) and Mary (6 - PA). Patrick is a laborer.

On March 06, 2000, Paul Delmore posted the following at genealogy.com (genforum.genealogy.com):
Seeking info on Pat DELMORE [born] abt 1804 and Patrick DELMORE [born] about 1828. Believed to be from KILLESHABRA [Killeshandra, Co. Cavan, Ireland]. The older Patrick and wife Mary were last found in 1860 IOWA with son Edward, Ontario, 1840? Younger Patrick married Anna HOGAN and eventually resided in Wilkes Barre until late 1870s. Believed buried in St Mary Cemetery, Hanover Twp, Luzerne Co, PA.

The 1880 Federal Census for Wilkes Barre, Luzerne, PA (ED#118, page 644A) records John Delmore (18 - PA) with his widowed mother Ann (57 - Ireland) and sisters Susie (20 - Ireland) and Mary (16 - Ireland) living at 335 Hunts Alley. John is a Brakeman.

The 1900 Federal Census for Pittston, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, District 102, page 217A records John (Dec 1862 - PA/Ireland/Ireland) and Catherine (Oct 1872 - Ireland/Ireland/Ireland) Delmore with children Leo (March 1885), Mary J. (Aug 1887), and Catherine (July 1897) living at 99 Cliff Street. Catherine indicates she has been married for 5 years and has had 3 children, however, little Catherine is the only one of the children here that she has born. John is listed as a Rail Road Conductor. Catherine reports that she immigrated in 1884.

The 1910 Federal Census for Wilkes Barre, Luzerne, PA, Ward 14 (ED#160, page 67A) records John W. Delmore (48 - PA/Ireland/Ireland) with his wife Catherine (30 - Ireland/Ireland/Ireland) and their children Catherine (12 - PA), Thomas (9 - PA), Hildagard (7 - PA), and Paul (4 - PA) living at 650 Hazel Avenue. John is a Brakeman for the Railroad. John and Catherine have been married for 16 years while Catherine's date of immigration is not recorded. The surname is indexed as Delnic and Delmo at ancestry.com.


The 1920 Federal Census for Wilkes Barre, Luzerne, PA, Ward 14 (ED#254, page 192A) records John Delmore (50 - PA/Ireland/Ireland) with his wife Catherine (40 - Ireland/Ireland/Ireland) and their children Catherine (20 -PA), Thomas (17 - PA), Hilda (16 - PA), and Paul (13 - PA) living at 16 Solomon Street. Also in the household is a niece, Mary Maher (3 - NJ/Ireland/Ireland). John is a Brakeman for the Railroad while the daughter Catherine is working in a winding factory, Thomas is making candy in a factory, and Hilda is spinner in a silk mill.

The 1930 Federal Census for Hanover Township, Luzerne, PA (ED#63, page 559B) records John Delmore (62 - PA/Ireland/Ireland) with his wife Catherine (52 - Ireland/Ireland/Ireland) living at 2 East Liberty Street [Wilkes Barre in the same area of town as previous census records. Also in the house hold is recently married daughter, Catherine [Delmore] Kane (30 - PA) with her husband Walter (31 - PA) and son Walter, Jr. (11/12 - PA). John is a Brakeman for the Railroad while Walter is a Clerk in the Steam Railroad Office.
