(Jan 1887), Mary B. (Oct 1888), William S. (Sept 1890), Hazel D. [David Hassell] (May 1892) and Eldridge R. (June 1895). James and Mary have been married for 29 years and have 16 children of whom 12 are still living. Nearby is James' brother, Joseph Garrett, and his family.

James is listed as single as are all the children. James has no employment while all the children are working in the cotton mill. Note: In further researching it has been determined that Willie S. Garrett married Grace Simpson; thus, the Grace listed above in the 1910 census record would most likely be his wife ... not sister as described in the census record.

Craddock (22 - Maryland/VA/VA) and grandson Frank Craddock (19 - VA/Maryland/VA/US) living at 9 Selma Avenue [This is in Danville, VA]. Also at this address are Hattie Garrett (22), the widow Emma Bradley (52 - NC/NC/SC) and James Garrett (3 - NC/NC/NC). Hattie is listed as married and James could be 3 or 33 years of age.
The 1920 Federal Census for Ridgeway, Henry Co., VA, District 119 page 267A records James W. (63 - VA/VA/VA) and Mary (60 - VA/VA/VA) Garrett living on Main Street. James is listed as a State Senator.
