The 1910 Federal Census for Cypress District, Nansemond Co., VA (District 9, page 66A) dated May 14-16, 1910 records the widow Sarah J. Dowdy (sic) [Doughtie] (70 - VA/VA/VA) living by herself as a "general farmer". Sarah reports having had 1 child that is still living.
