The 1930 Federal Census for Nansemond Co., VA, District 9, page 140A, dated April 3, 1930 records Raleigh G. (27) and Sabra C. (24) Roberts living on Va. Highway 12 near the Whaleyville and Holland Road. They have been married 8 years and report having had no children, however, it appears they had at least one child: Willie Catherine Roberts, probably a daughter of Raleigh and Sabra, in that she is buried next to Raleigh at the Holy Neck Christian Church Cemetery (Willie Daughtrey Ellis would be her grand mother).
The 1940 Federal Census for Holy Neck, Nansemond Co., VA, District 62-11, page 156A, dated April 9, 1940 records Rawleigh S Roberts (37 - VA) and Sobra Roberts (34 - VA) Roberts with daughters Shirley Grace (9) and Jenn S. (6) farming along Va. Highway 58. Actually, Jenn is a son, Gene S. Roberts, as indicated in the obituary of his mother ... see general notes on Sabra Catherine Ellis.
