The funeral for Lucy Jane Via Hodges, 101, of the Martinsville Convalescent Center, and formerly of Rives Road, Martinsville, who died Thursday, Dec.21, 1995, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday from the graveside at Oakwood Cemetery. Dr. James A. ckerson will officiate.
The family will receive friends at McKee Funeral Services from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
Hodges, a Henry County native, was born Oct. 19, 1894, to the late Charles William Via and the late Sallie Bet Craig Via. She was the widow of John Hardin Hodges and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. S. M. (Ann) Philpott.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Martinsville and the Women's Missionary union.
Surviving are one daughter, J. Hubert (Bernice) Smith of Martinsville; three sons, James L. Hodges of Chesnee. S. C., John H. Hodges Jr. of Surf Side Beach, S. C., and C. Ralph Hodges of Richmond; one brother, Edward Via of Collinsville, 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one
