The 1910 Federal Census for Ridgeway, Henry Co., VA, District 73, page 193B, dated May 2, 1910 records John Lovelace (30 - NC/VA/VA), and wife, Florence Lovelace (23) with son William D. (2). John and Florence have been married 4 years. Next door is a brother, Thomas G. Lovelace, and his family.

The WWI Draft Regitration Card for John William Webster Lovelace dated Sept 12, 1918 records his date of birth as Sept 1, 1876. His nearest relative is Florence Lovelace, wife and they live in Ridgeway, Henry Co., VA. His physical description is tall and slender with blue eyes and light hair. He signs his card as J. W. W. Lovelace.

The 1920 Federal Census for Martinsville, Henry Co., Va, District 114, page 178B, dated Feb 12, 1920 records John W. W. (32) and Florence (32) Lovelace with children William D. (12), Etta F. (7), George W. (5), Cora E. (3 4/12), and Lillie Ann (1 9/12) farming along Sand Clay Road. Interesting that Florence is listed as a Farmer Helper.

John Lovelace, resident of this city for a number of years, passed away at the home of his brother, George Lovelace, about a mile south of the city, Friday. Death followed a stroke of paralysis. Funeral services were held from the Lovelace residence Saturday. The body was taken to the former home near Price, N.C., where burial was made.
Surviving are his wife and seven children.

John married Florence Etta Draper, daughter of Peter Davis Draper and Mary Lucinda Nunn, on 28 Dec 1905 in Martinsville, Henry Co., VA. (Florence Etta Draper was born circa 1887 in Henry Co., VA, died on 25 May 1928 in Martinsville, Henry Co., VA. and was buried in Lovelace Cemetery Price, Rockingham Co, North Carolina.) The cause of her death was Cerebral Meningitis.
