The 1880 Federal Census for Brush Creek, Knox Co., Kentucky records Ellen Broughton (21), Wilkerson Broughton (19), and Anthony Broughton (17) living in the home of Milton Jackson (51) and his wife Margaret J. (46) and their nephew Joseph Jackson (17). Wilkerson, Ellen, and Anthony are realed to Milton as cousins. Next door is the widower Pet. [Peter] Broughton (43) with his children Martha J. (19), Sarah (16), Mary (14), Lucinda (9), and Maggie (5).
