The 1910 Federal Census for Mechanicsburg Ward 5, Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania, ED# 24, page 43B records Abby M. Halter (24) as a servant in the home of Fred H. (37) and Irene M. (30) Menger at 415 West Main Street.

The 1920 Federal Census for Harrisburg Ward 4, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania, ED# 68, page 11B records Abbie Halter (29) as a Maid in the home of Henry B. (54) and Mary B. (51) McCormick at 305 Front Street.

The 1930 Federal Census for Harrisburg Ward 12th, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania, ED# 60, page 224A, dated April 19, 1930 records Abbie Halter (30) as a Maid in the home of Francis J. (52) and Mary E. (52) Hall at 1601 Front Street. The Halls are obviously rather wealthy in their home is valued at $40,000. Note: Abbie's age is listed as 30 which is incorrect or perhaps she just wnated to be listed as younger than she actually was.

My mother Catherine M (Kile) (1883-1958) born in Leesburg PA (?), died Mechanicsburg PA to David R Halter (1853-1935) and Clara D ? (1856-1934). Both died in Walnut Bottom PA aka Jacksonville PA. My grandfather owned a general store and had a orchestra in Walnut Bottom. My mother's brother Adam R. (1888-1918) died in the great flu epidemic of 1918. Sister Abbie (1886-?) was a nanny most of her life marrying a Joseph Sprenkle in 1940's. Would appreciate any info regarding David, Clara and predecessors.
