The 1880 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., Va., Dist 164, page 50A records John S. Kindrick (40 - VA/VA/VA) with his wife Adrianner Kindrick (35 - VA/VA/VA) and children Nellie E. (14), Walter (12), Willie J. (10), Nannie N. (7), and Lee (4). Next door is Owen Adkins Sr. (90) living next door to his daughter Permillia and her children.

The 1900 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., VA, ED#71, page 232B, dated June 12, 1900 records John S. (Jan 1837 - VA/VA/VA) and Ardena F. (May 1848 - VA/VA/VA) Kendrick with their son William J. Kendrick (May 1870). John and Adrena have been married for 35 years and have had 6 children of whom 5 are still living.

The 1910 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., VA, ED#89, page 74A, dated April 20, 1910 records James L. (28 - VA/VA/VA) and Cora M. (25 - VA/VA/VA) Kendrick with children Hattie M. (7), Bertha M. (5), James F. (3), and Stanford (2). Also in this household is the widowed mother-in-law Elinor Smith (56 - VA/VA/VA). [Elinor Smith must be Elinor/Mige Adkins and perhaps she married a Smith ca 1905 who died] Next door is Permelia Adkins (85) and her daughters Isabella M. Adkins (60) and Alice K. Adkins (46) as well as the widower Jennie [Adkins] Kendrick (57) and her children. On the other side of James and Cora is William J. Kendrick (39) and his widowed mother Ardenia F. Kendrick (64). [William is the son of John S. Kendrick who was the son of Owen Adkins and his mistriss, Louisa Kendrick]

John married Ardina F. Kasey on 12 Mar 1868 in Pittsylvania Co, VA. (Ardina F. Kasey was born in May 1847 in Virginia and died after 1920 in Pittsylvania Co., VA.)

Cemnsus records indicate that John Sanders Kendrick was married to an Adriana not a Francis. Researching 1850 and 1860 census records reveals:
The 1860 Federal Census for North District, Pittsylvania Co., VA, Chatam P. O., page 73, dated August 4, 1860 records Joseph Kasey (43 - VA) with Francis Kasey (34 - VA), Nancy Kasey (31 - VA), Permelia Kasey (17), Josephine Kasey (7), and Elizabeth Kasey (3 - VA).
and
The 1860 Federal Census for North District, Pittsylvania Co., VA, Callands P. O., page 32, dated July 9, 1860 records John Kasey (27 - VA) with Salley Kasey (30 - VA), Ardina Kasey (13 - VA), George Kasey (10),and William Kasey (2).
and
Both Francis and Nancy Kasey (Casey) are reported in the 1880 Pittsylvanioa Co. Census ...
Thus ... this researcher believes John Saunders Kendrick married Ardina Kasey ... and her mother was Salley Kasey as indicated on the marriage record above. Perhaps Ardina's middle name was Francis as she repeated is described as Ardina F. Kendrick.
