Also in the household are Francis Goodman (10 - Nansemond Co) and Sally Goodman (45 - Nansemond Co) [Francis' mother].
The 1860 Federal Census for Western Division, Monroe Co., Mississippi, Aberdeen P. O. records B. G. Doughtry (sic) (41 - VA) with his wife Ann E. Doughtry (33 - VA). Also in the household is Martha F. Goodwin (17 - VA). Martha is likely to be the Francis Goodman listed above in the 1850 census. Barnes is doing rather well in his new surroundings with real estate valued at (no listing) and a personal estate valued at $7,275 including 7 slaves.
The 1870 Federal Census for Western Division, Monroe Co., Mississippi, Aberdeen P. O. records Bar Daugherty (sic) (52 - VA) with his wife Annay Daugherty (44 - VA). Barnes has real estate valued at $500 and a personal estate valued at $500. Next door is Martha Francis Goodman with her husband and child: Henry Commander (28 - Mississippi) and his wife, Martha Commander (24 - Virginia). Also in that household is Nancy Commander (24 - Mississippi). Henry has real estate valued at $100 and a personal estate valued at $200. Note: Martha Francis Goodman is the grand daughter of Benjamin Goodman, brother of Cherry Goodman Daughtrey.
