Also in the household is Mildred Ripley (63). Rawls Family researcher, Nita Rawls Watterson, confirmed that this is the family of Callidonia Ellis. Nita believes Mildred is the mother of Jane Powers.

The 1860 Federal Census, Virginia, Norfolk Co., Portsmouth Jackson Ward, page 59 records Joseph (23 - carpenter) and Jane (30-hat trimmer) Ellis with children Mary E.
