The 1930 Federal Census for Palatka City, Putnam Co., Florida, District 10, page 199A, dated April 9, 1930 records Robert A. (25 - VA/VA/VA) and Lillian (23 - GA/GA/GA) Rawls with daughter Geraldine (5/12 - Florida). Robert is an Oil Company Agent and has been married to Lillian for 3 years.
It appears that Robert and Lillian divorced sometime in the 1930s: The 1940 Federal Census for St. Augustine, St. Johns Co., Florida, District 55-16, page 145B, dated April 5, 1940 records Lillian Guenther (33 - Georgia) with her daughter Geraldine Rawls (10 - Florida) with her husband George Guenther (26 - FL) living with George's widowed mother, Helen Guenther (54 - PA) at 11 South Riberid Street. Both Lillian and Geraldine report living in Palatka City, Putnam Co., Florida on April 1, 1935.

He was the son of John A. Rawls of Holland and the late Mrs. Collie Ellis Rawls of Nansemond County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Rawls, and a daughter, Miss Geraldine Rawls, of Massillon; his father and his stepmother, Mrs. Louise Cutchins Rawls; a sister, Mrs Margaret Rawls Boykin of Ivor; and two brothers, James Rawls of Holland and J.L. Rawls of Winter Haven, Fla. The body arrived in Franklin on Sunday morning; and funeral services were held at the graveside in Poplar Spring Cemetery at 4 p.m., Rev. R.D. Stephenson and Rev. J.C.
