The 1880 Federal Census for Winton Township, Hertford Co., NC, District 71, page 450B, dated June 13, 1880 records F. C. Brinkley (18) with her parents J. H. (38) and M. C. (40) Brinkley and siblings Celia (16), Luvenia (13), Bertie (10), and John (6).

Fannie married John Wynn Doughtie, son of Samuel R. Doughtie and Malinda Zilleth Willoughby, on 24 Jan 1882 in St. Johns, Hertford Co., NC. (John Wynn Doughtie was born on 31 Dec 1858 in Hertford Co., N. C. and died on 21 Jan 1935 in Ahoskie, Hertford Co., NC.) The cause of his death was Stomach Cancer / Cancer of Head & Pancreas.

Barsha and Kindred Hollomon's daughter, Jennie, was registered as Geneva Holloman age 24 when she married J. W. Doughtie of Hertford County - he was 41 years of age at the time. They were married on January 24, 1900 at K. Holloman's place. K. Holloman's place was formerly Josiah and Anna Harrell's place, and later would be Geneva and John W. Doughtie's place. This means Geneva was born, married, and probably died in the same place.
Geneva was John Wynn Doughtie's second wife. John W. married Fannie C. Brinkley on January 24, 1882 in St. Johns, Hertford County. John and Fannie Doughtie's children were: Mack, Lila, Nola, Enzie, James, Jesse, and John.
