Funeral services for Melvin J. Dice Sr., 83, of Enola, will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Cocklin Funeral Home, 30 N. Chestnut St. Dillsburg.
He died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born March 8, 1918 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Jacob and Gertrude Potteiger Dice and the widow of the late Mercer Dice.
He was a retired self-employed carpenter and mason.
Mr. Dice is survived by four sons, Melvin J. Jr. of Dillsburg, Michael R. of Harrisburg, James R. of Enola and John E. of Mt. Holly Springs; a daughter, Mary K. Philips of New Cumberland; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. David Miller will officiate at services. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dillsburg. Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Melvin married Anne E. Koran. (Anne E. Koran was born circa 1911 in Ohio and died in 1976 in Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania.)
