(15), Thomas L. (13), Maude E. (11), John R. (10), and Doris W. (6). Also on the farm are John's parents Thomas A. (75) and Mary J. (69) Belcher.

The 1930 Federal Census for Union Hall, Franklin Co., Virginia, District 19, page 235A, dated April 11, 1930 records John S. (59) and L. Ema (50) Belcher with children Charlies H. (28) and Doris W. (16). Also on the farm is John's widowed father Thomas A. Belcher (85). Next door is John's brother Emmett R. Belcher (25) with his wife Mary L. Belcher (22) and their daughter Dorothy L. Belcher (1).
