The 1860 Federal Census for the Eastern District, Isle of Wight Co., VA, Smithfield P. O., page 94, dated Aug 15, 1860 records Joshua [Josiah] G. Cutchins with his wife M. A. Cutchin (24), son J. [John] J. A. Cutchin (4) and daughter J. [Josephine] W. Cutchin (4/12) living near 1/2 brother William H. Cutchin and family as well as Joshua and Priscilla Daughtrey and Tom and Harriet Daughtrey Jenkins.
The 1870 Federal Census, Isle of Wight Co., Va. records Josiah (45) and Mary L. (31) with children John J. A. (14), Josephine W. (10), and Charles J. (3) living near his half brother William H. Cutchin and his wife Sara.
The 1880 Federal Census, Isle of Wight Co., Va. Windsor District taken June 1880 records J. G. (52) and M. L. (40) Cutchen with children J. E. W. (17) and C. J. (15) living near his half brother W. H. Cutchen (57) and his wife Sinith [Asenith Daughtrey] (36) and daughter Mary (8/12 - Sept 1879). Josiah dies before 1900 as do 2 of his children. Charles survives and is living with his widowed mother in 1900 ... see notes on Mary L. Jones.
Josiah married Mary Louise Jones. (Mary Louise Jones was born in Aug 1836 in Nansemond Co, VA. and died after 1910 in Isle of Wight Co., VA.)
