bullet  General Notes:

The 1900 Federal Census for Holy Neck, Nansemond Co., Virginia, District 27, page 97A taken April 26, 1910 records Willie T. Daughtrey (Jan 1882 - VA/VA/VA) boarding in the home of Zachery Holland (Jan 1836). Willie is a farm laborer. This may or may not be our William Thomas Daughtrey; but this researcher can find no other individual in 1900 that is possible. The WWI Draft Card record below gives a A. T. Daughtry as a relation but this researcher can find no record of a connection that would make a connection.

The 1910 Federal Census for City of Norfolk, Norfolk Co., Virginia, Ward 6, District 60, page 97A taken April 26, 1910 records William T. (28 - VA) and Lily (25 - VA) Daughtrey with children William H. (3) and Virginia (1 10/12) living on Granby Street. They have been married 5 years and have had 2 children. William is an Insurance Agent. (They are indexed as Doughtrey at ancestry ... and the link is incorrect : the image can be found in linked District 61, image 3 of 56) A nearby page of the census, 98B, records John H. and Inez Daughtrey. John and Lily is brother and sister.

The WWI Draft Registration Card for William Thomas Daughtry records his date of birth as Nov. 12, 1882. He is living in Ocean View, Norfolk Co., VA and is a self employed Real Estate Agent. His nearest relative is A. T. Daughtry of 1503 Laurel Ave., Portsmouth, VA. William is tall with medium build, blue eyes and light hair.

The 1920 Federal Census records William Daughtrey (37) and his three children, Harman (13), Marvin (9), and Virginia (11), living in Tanners Creek District, Norfolk, VA. William is listed as a real estate agent and divorced.

The 1930 Federal Census for City of Norfolk, Norfolk Co., Virginia, Ocean View District 103, page 235B taken April 21, 1930 records William T. Daughtery (46) lodging at the home of Sallie D. Workman at 509 Ocean View Ave. William lists his occupation and Relator - Land (sic) [Realtor]. This William Daughtery (sic) is most likely "our" Will Daughtrey, the son of Abraham T. and Roxanna Daughtrey, neighbors of Eli Daughtrey.

The 1940 Federal Census for City of Norfolk, Norfolk Co., Virginia, District 114-98, page 235B taken April 21, 1930 records William T. Daughtry (58 - VA) living at 203 East 40th Street.
