The 1940 Federal Census for Irisburg, Henry Co., VA, Districit 45-5, page 131A, dated April 4, 1940 records Louise Jones (32 - VA) with her husband John T. Jones (30 - VA) and children L??abby (12 - VA) and Abbilue (16 - VA). [Actually, L??abby looks like Lilabby and she has completed 7 years of school ... Abbilue's age is marked out and her years of school is 0 with not having attended school in the last year ... perhaps she is under 4 years of age. Of course, their mother was Abbie Adkins Terry and these namesapparently reflect an effort from Louise to honor her mother.] Both John and Louise have compeleted 4 years of high school. John is employed as a General Retail Merchant.

The obituary of Miss Ola F. Terry reports that she is survived by her sisters, Mrs. W. Robert Jones of Axton (Irisburg in Henry Co.) and Mrs. John T. Jones of Chesapeake; and two brothers, Brumely (sic) G. Terry [Burnley Green Terry] of Chesapeake and Clyde L. Terry of Danville.

Louise married John Thomas Jones, son of Robert Ward Jones Sr. and Bettie Lee Meadors, on 5 Aug 1933 in Martinsville, Henry Co, Virginia. (John Thomas Jones was born circa 1910 in Virginia and died after 1940 in Irisburg, Henry Co., Va..)
