STAUNTON Mary Louise Crummett, 91, of Staunton, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Envoy of Staunton. She was born May 7, 1918, in Suffolk, a daughter of the late William Jasper and Viola (Rawls) Daughtrey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayburn Crummett, on Oct. 27, 1990, and two brothers, Marvin and Edward Daughtrey.
Mrs. Crummett was a member of Fifth Street United Brethren Church. She was a graduate of Madison College and had taught school in Highland and Augusta counties.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Zane Leroy Crummett of Staunton and William Vance and Karen Crummett of Swoope; a sister, Kathryn D. Pierce of Suffolk; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, in Head Waters Cemetery, with the Rev. Harry Moore officiating.
Friends may call at the home of Vance and Karen Crummett at 68 Buffalo Branch Lane in Swoope.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fifth Street United Brethren Church, 409 G St., Staunton, VA 24401.

Mary married Claybourne Crummett, son of William Lewis Crummett and Martha Jane Armstrong, on 23 May 1938. (Claybourne Crummett was born on 5 Sep 1903 in Highland Co., Virginia, died on 27 Oct 1990 in Staunton, Augusta Co., VA and was buried in Headwaters Cemetery, Bethel, Highland County, Virginia.)
