It appears that by 1910, Curtis Alexander has moved to California: The 1910 Federal Census for Newman Township, Stanislaus Co., California, District 155, page 109B records Curtis Alexander (35 - PA/PA/PA) as a Hostler in a Livery Stable [one who is employed to tend horses, especially at an inn].


In November 2008 Wilma Fauth Jones sent the following copy from a book on the Alexander Family of Lancaster, PA published ca 1922:
Curtis Alexander was born November 15, 1873.

He received his education in the Common School.

In 1896 he went to the Klondike in Alaska where he spent seven years; then a time in San Francisco. During the past five years he has been in Chicago engaged in Railroad Work as Yard Master.

On August 12, 1916 he married Miss Emma Bruce, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bruce of Lancaster City. They lived in Chicago.

In Church affiliation they were Christian Scientists, and in politics they were Republicans.

In 1919 he was afflicted with an internal cancerous growth, and notwithstanding an operation and every care, on July 22 he passed away. His body was taken to Lancaster City and affectionately buried in Greenwood Cemetery.

They had no children.

Curtis married Emma J. Bruce on 12 Aug 1916. (Emma J. Bruce was born on 16 Aug 1878 in Lancaster Co., PA, died on 3 Jul 1925 in Lancaster City, Lancaster Co., PA and was buried on 7 Jul 1925 in Greenwood Cemetery, Lancaster City, Lancaster County, PA.) The cause of her death was Pulmonary ???.
