From the Baytown Sun, July 15, 2008: Louie Denson Doughtie, 85, of Anahuac, died in a Baytown hospital on Monday, July 14, 2008. He was born in Rayville, LA, to John H. and Lois Denson Doughtie on November 16, 1922. Mr. Doughtie was a graduate of Rayville High School and proudly served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He retired as a pipefitter from Brown & Root. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John H. Doughtie and W. H. Doughtie, Mr. Doughtie is survived by his wife, Mary Doughtie; step-sons, James Tompkins and wife, Peggy, of Baytown and Ray Tompkins and wife, Anne, of Smithville; step-daughters, Ann Latham, of LaGrange and Fay Till, of Anahuac; and sister, Jean Carter and husband, Bill, of Winnsboro, LA. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
