The 1870 Federal Census for Richland Co., Louisiana, Ward 2, Girard Post Office (page 137A) records Louisa Johnson (39 - LA) with children Thomas (20 - LA), Charles (18 - LA), George (15 - LA), Anna E. (16 - LA), Therasa (13 - LA), and Ellen L. (12 - LA). Louisa has real estate valued at $2,500 and a personal estate valued at $600.

The 1880 Federal Census for Richland Co., Louisiana, Ward 3, Girard Post Office (Dist 70, page 137A) records Richard J. McKay (30 - Mississippi/NC/Mississippi) with wife Therasa S. (22 - LA) and children Richard T. (3 - LA) and no name (2/12 - LA). Also in the household are Therasa's aunt, the widower (or divorcee) Laura L. Chevalier (40 - LA/NotK/NotK), Anna E. Johnson (26 - LA), Thomas J. Johnson (30 - LA-widower), Dora Johnson (4 - LA). Anna and Thomas are Therasa's siblings while Dora is the daughter of Thomas.

The 1900 Federal Census for Richland Co., Louisiana (ED99, page 170A, dated June 9, 1900)) records William (March 1844) and Teretha [Theresa] (July 1846) Doughtie with children Lizzie M. (March 1887-13), John H. (August 1889-10), Lowett (October 1893-6), and Lillian (April 1897-3) living next door to Richard (May 1877) and his sister Zilpha (March 1883) McKay (Theresa's son and his sister). (The ccensus records Zilpha as Richard's sister) William is a farmer and Richard is a farm manager. William and Teresa have been married for 15 years and Theresa reports having had 4 children all of whom are still married. Note: The 4 children do not include the 3 she had with Richard McKay.

The 1910 United States Federal Census for Richland Parish, Louisiana, 3-wd police jury, District 115 records W. H. (53-Virginia), Teretha (52), and children Elizabeth M. (22), John H. (20), Louie L. (15), and Lithian M. (12).

1920 United States Federal Census for Richland Parish, Louisiana, Police Jury Ward 3, District 106, page 123B records the widow Mrs W. H. Daughter [Doughtie] (64) with children Elizabeth (29) and John (27). John manages the "Home Farm".

The 1930 Federal Census for Police Jury Ward 3, Richland Co., Louisiana (Dist 8, page 148B) dated April 16, 1930 records the widow Theresa Doughtie (73) as head of household with John Doughtie (33) and his wife Lois (30) and their children William (10), Louie D. (8), John Jr. (3 8/12), and Lillian G. (1 5/12).
