By 1910, Daisy L. Brooks is living with her father's family in South Carolina: The 1910 Federal Census for Paris Mountain, Greenville Co., SC, District 40 records Daisy L. Brooks (12 - VA/TN/VA) living with her grand parents John (65 - TN/TN/TN) and Mary J. (59 - SC/SC/SC) McNabb. It is the 2nd marriage for both John and Mary. Also in the household are John's daughters Bertha V. McNabb (30) and Nannie M. McNabb (25) as well as his son Oscar L. McNabb (32) with his wife Margaret B. (27) and their daughter Crystal R. McNabb (2 - SC/SC/SC). It should be noted that David and Florence have not been found in the 1910 census and that the 1880 reveals David's whereabouts early in life: The 1880 Federal Census for Newport Township, Cocke Co., Tennessee, District 63 records the step son David Brooks (7 - TN/TN/SC) living with John (35 - TN/TN/TN) and Mary J. (29 - SC/SC/SC) McNabb and their children Oscar L. McNabb (2 - TN/TN/SC) and Bertha McNabb (10/12 - TN/TN/SC).
