Katherine M. Hensley, Former ACS director, dies at 83

Katherine M. Hensley, 83, of 1108 Mulberry Road, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at her home.
She was born in Franklin County on July 8, 1921, to Edgar Lee Montgomery and Grace Terry Montgomery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Hensley, in 1952.
She retired as executive director from the American Cancer Society. She was a member of Broad Street Christian Church, Piedmont Arts and Greenwood Garden Club.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services chapel. Dr. Steve Perotti will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for an hour before the service Monday.
