The 1860 Federal Census for Reading, Spruce Ward, Berks Co., PA, page 1017A, dated July 11, 1860 records Nathan (45 - PA) and Deliah (29 - PA) Essic with children Nathan (6 - PA) and William (3 - PA). Nathan is a day laborer with real estate valued at $500 and a personal estate valued at $100.
The 1870 Federal Census for Reading, Berks Co., PA, page 718A, dated Aug 10, 1870 records Nathan (50 - PA) and Deliah (35 - England) Essick with children Nathan (16 - PA), Will (13 - PA), and Walter (7 - PA). Nathan is a pipe cutter with real estate valued at $2,000 and a personal estate valued at $100.
The 1880 Federal Census for Reading, Berks Co., PA, District 40, page 34B, dated June 2, 1880 records Nathan (58 - PA/PA/PA) and wife Delilah (42 - PA/PA/England) Essick living at 429 South 7th Street in Reading, PA with sons William (23) and Walter (17). Nathan is listed as Rheumatic. Deliah continued to live there through 1900.
The Reading, PA Register of Wills lists Nathan Essick with a date of death as January 23, 1888.
