John Minter
- Born: Abt 1756, Powhatan Co., VA.
- Marriage: Susannah (Susan/Sukey) Williams
- Died: Abt 1832, Leatherwood Area of Henry Co., VA. about age 76
General Notes:
The earliest records of Minters in America show a Richard Minter and wife, Ann, in Jamestown, VA in 1620. Later records show Edward Minter, son of Richard and Ann Minter, bringing his family from England to Virginia in 1635 to claim land due his father who was then deceased. Currently there is no documented link from these early Minters to the Henry Co. Minters of the 1700s.

From 1774 to 1833, John and Sukey Minter raised a family and farmed the land around the branches of Leatherwood Creek in Henry County, Virginia.
John Minter is not listed in the 1830 Federal Census for Henry Co., Va., however, there is a woman who is 70-80 years old listed in the household of Othnel Minter. This is probably Othnel's and Silas' mother, Susannah.
John married Susannah (Susan/Sukey) Williams. (Susannah (Susan/Sukey) Williams was born about 1755 and died about 1852 in Leatherwood, Henry Co., VA..)
