Interesting to note that the residence for as of April 1, 1935 for Hurbert was Windell, NC; for Eleanor was Dallas, Texas; for Ruby was Blackstone [VA]; and Hurbert L. [Jr.] was Franklin Co. [VA].

BOWLING, Eleanor Akers, 89, of Berkshire Health Care Center, Vinton, passed away Saturday, May 3, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. Bowling and a brother, P. D. Akers, Jr. Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Harold L. and Gladys Bowling, Hurt, Richard N. Bowling, Vinton; daughter and son-in-law, Doris B. and Skippy Clark, Vinton; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Weldon Akers, Rocky Mount, E. C. Akers, Roanoke and John Herbert Akers, Culpeper; four sisters, Miss Beatrice Akers, Mrs. Thelma A. Montgomery, both of Boones Mill, Mrs. Merle A. Prillaman, Roanoke, Mrs. Ruby A. Prillaman, Vinton; sister-in-law, Annie Rue Bowling, Franklinton, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 12 noon Tuesday, May 6, 1997, with the Rev. J. E. Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park, Boones Mill. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, where the family will receive friends, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
