Henry and Maggie have been married for 8 years and have had 5 children of whom 4 are still living. Henry is a day laborer. This census record is some 18 pages over from future husband, John Henry Haas.

Haas - Amelia Schmitt, On Sunday, November 12, 1967, at 2:30 O'clock A. M., beloved wife of John Henry Haas Sr., mother of Mrs. Joseph P. Scavo Jr., Mrs. Richard A. Hagen of Reading, Pa., John H. Haas Jr., Henry J. Haas and George W. Haas, daughter of the late Henry J. Schmitt and Marguerite Mergenthaler, sister of Mrs. John Balda and the late Mrs. Eugene Gerstner, Henry and Rodney Schmitt, also survived by seven grandchildren, age 74 Years, a native and a resident of this city. Relatives and Friends of the family, also officers and members of New Orleans Police Benevolent Association and employes of Jenkins Book Co., New Orleans Copper Works, Inc., National Distilleries, F. Strauss and Sons, National Blowpipe Manufacturing Company are invited to attend the funeral. Services from Leitz- Eagan Funeral Home, Magazine at Philip (Parking 2215 And 2300 Magazine), on Tuesday morning, Nov. 14, 1967, At 11 O'clock. Interment in Metairie Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 P. M. Monday.
